Bio
Police Officer Gisela Aguilar grew up in South Gate as the youngest of three children. In 2013, the United States Army opened up combat positions to women in field artillery. Gisela enlisted at 17 years-old and was one of the first females assigned to Artillery. When Gisela became 21 years-old, she joined the LAPD in September 10, 2017. She has since worked patrol at Hollywood, Hollenbeck and is currently assigned to Newton Division.  Officer Aguilar continued as a reserve for the Army until 2021, proudly serving our country for eight consecutive years.
Officer Gisela Aguilar loves to travel and has visited over twenty different countries across five continents. She is the first officer to run for the new position as LAWPOA’s  Member at Large- Police Officer rank and hopes to be an advocate and mentor to newer officers coming to the Department. Her experience as a female veteran and patrol officer has given her the passion to pay it forward.
